6 months

Well we had Katy's 6 month appointment last Friday, although she will be 7 months here on the 17th. Better late than never I suppose. I am happy to report that we had a "normal exam"

She weighs 15 lbs and 11 ounces (34%)
She is 25.1 inches long (17%)
Her head is 43 cm wide (68%)

Pretty normal I guess, although I am sure I had her beat on the big head thing when I was that age. I have always had a huge noggin!

Here are some of her likes and dislikes:

Likes
Chewing on her spoon instead of eating her food,
Thinking she can walk! No so much
Sleeping in, thank goodness she is like that!
Hangin' out with Dad (daddy's girl for sure)
Pulling chucks hair, ouch!
Screaming
Laughing
Standing up, again...can't walk!
Yo Gabba Gabba! Ha, I like this one too!

Dislikes
Not being able to make her body do what her head tells it to
Not being able to stand on her own
Not being able to walk on her own
Sitting still!

Well I think we are getting out of the "easy stages" although she is getting so much more fun. I guess more work is not always a bad thing, because it means she is developing well. Cant wait to see what the 9 month appointment in August will turn up for us. So far so good!

So I walk in the other day to find this.............

Steve and Katy cuddled up on the couch watching some good old Sesame Street! Seriously, can you get any cutter than this?

Steve has proven to be quite the Katy pleaser. Man, does that girl love her dad. *Flash forward with me to the future when her dates are coming to pick her up. Steve will be in the front room shining his gun, or getting finished with a conversation about how they'll never find the body if something happens to her. It's at this moment Katy realizes she misses the days of watchin' Sesame Street!*

For now I guess this will have to do. Steve better enjoy it because those boys won't stay away for long with a smile like that!

So it's been a while, again. I keep thinking that I will be better about this stuff...then I turn around and ignore it. I guess I am just having too much fun playing with Steve and Katy.

We have been busy though with.....

Running my first half marathon. That was a blast. It was fun meeting Steve and Katy and my mom at the finish line. Steve was a champ gettin' up early and all. Mom and my sister Katie had run the 5K that morning. I packed Steve up and got the camera ready to go, we wouldn't want to miss the photo opp right? Well I forgot one very key piece of the camera, the memory card! Yup, no pics really! Sad! Just a few on Steve's camera phone. I will say this, I had a blast! I was hoping to finish it in 3 hours, I did it in 3 hours and 10 seconds! Pretty close! Ha. And with the encouragement of my friend Suzie (who I ran with) I think I may even be looking into running the top of Utah marathon in September. We will just have to see how the training goes the next few weeks!

Excellent quality there!

Next up was Steve's new car, the Jeeper Creeper. Okay we really don't have a name for it yet but Steve is sure that it's a girl. So I should be saying that she is great. For those of you that know us, we have had a few cars in our time. This car is no exception to the line of greats we have had in the past. Not to go on and on about this but Steve has been looking on KSL for a Jeep for the past 3 years or so. I think he wanted to have a "conservative" car because he feels like that is more responsible, I guess. I say life is too short and as long as we don't have a car payment I am all about making your "car dreams" come true. So we have been driving around our non conservative car with the top off and our baby!

She's beautiful!!!

After we got that out of our system it was time to make one of our annual trips to one of our favorite places ever...MOAB!!! I do believe that Steve was in heaven. Katy even said she had a great time. My sister Britney and her family were there too. I will say that Josh (my bro in law) introduced me to a different side of Moab than I am used to...JEEPING! I don't think there was a second that we were not in the Jeep (again Steve was in Heaven!!!) I guess I am just used to camping and hiking (my favorite). But it's always good to try new things and I had a great time with that, so two thumbs up!

The Gang, stoppin' for a picture opp. Notice how happy everyone looks... especially Chuck! Ha, look at that face!

My Fam!
Katy pulling the famous face!

And the Jeeping!

Next up on the Beardshalls list of fun things to do? Dave Ramsey's live event. Gosh I am officially a nerd, does anyone even know who Dave Ramsey is? Well he is a talk show radio host on KNRS 570 at night from 7-10. I started listening to him a few years ago when I was working at first step house and driving home at that time. Well Steve worked one of the U of U football games and as an incentive to do that he got tickets to an E Center event of his choice. I begged him to get tickets to Dave. So he did (even though he rubs it in my face that we could have gone to the days of 47 rodeo or a cool concert). Basically Dave has "baby steps" to follow to get yourself out of debt. His motto is "Live Like No One Else". Which basically means live your life now like no one else, so you can live your life later like no one else. Make sense? I bought one of his books The Total Money Makeover about a year ago and I am proud to say that aside from our house we are completely debt free. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to sound preechy but not having debt on stuff like cars or credit cards feels great. We are continuing to build up our emergency fund and will start investing more next year and paying off our house. If you don't have cash for something, you cant get it! I don't think enough people now a days live on a budget. Well that is my two cents. I had a great time. Mom came too...we almost made it thought but Katy was having a hard time. It was from 1-6 can you blame her???

We took Katy swimming for the first time. Talk about cute! She was so much fun to watch. Gosh she is just about 6 1/2 months now and is on the verge of crawling, and even walking if she had her balance down better. It will be so much fun to see what will happen in the next few weeks. I am lovin' every second I get to soak up with her (hence not keeping up on the blog). **Warning: I'm going to get cheesy here** I am so blessed to be able to have the opportunity to be a mom to Katy. She is incredible. I asked Steve the other day what he though about being a parent. I asked him if it was what he expected...He said it's different, it's WAY Better! I have to agree. Katy is one of the most laid back, mellow, awesomest kidlets I know. I am blessed!

Awww...we match. I am a nerdy mom already!!!

We were able to celebrate and remember loved ones on Memorial Day with Steve's family. We went out Saturday night with Grandma and Grandpa Beardshall to the graves and dinner. Then on Monday we got together with Steve's family at the Olson's house for Breakfast then to the graves.

What's up next for us? I've been taking a ton of picture's for other people lately. Maybe I can finally make some time to get a website up and going?? Hopefully! I am looking forward to our week up at Snowbird this month, and Steve's families time share in Park City in July. I cant wait for the 4th of July. I am stoaked for Drive-In Movies. I love summer!!!
