The Beardshall's

Katy is SO lucky to have so many people who care so much about her...including Grandma and Grandpa Beardshall. They LOVE her to pieces! I love how excited they get to see her.

Can't you just see it in there faces? This picture makes my heart happy!

This Little Piggy went to Market

Okay so I guess you get the "little piggy" joke with Steve right? Ha, I am so funny sometimes!

But besides me being funny, I also like to go to the farmers market down town. I know there are a TON that are closer, but you can't miss out on this one right? It was warmer than I expected, but not more crowded! This place was packed. I even talked Roger and Joanne and RaNae and Ken into coming.

Our treasure we found this day was honey butter from Knight Family Farms. One taste of this and I was in HEAVEN! Yum Yum in my Tum Tum!!! Highly recommended, the honey was good too. I have loved it on toast. We even got crazy and made scones. I'll have to double check when Katy can have honey (I don't think they can have that for quite some time) because she is really missing out!

The gang...Roger was on his phone!

September 11th

did something fun to celebrate 9-11 this year. I helped protect and serve our country with WVC's finest...STEVE!I think the last and only time I went on a ride along with Steve, I was about 3 months pregnant. So it was a different experience for me this time!

Remembering September 11th really makes me cry. I cannot believe that someone could do such a thing. It's still hard to go back and picture seeing it all unfold. I just wanted to say that I am so blessed and proud to live in this country where we enjoy the FREEDOMS and RIGHTS that we do. I am so grateful for the men and women who serve every day and who have also given their lives to keep it that way.

I guess to Steve it was a normal night for the most part. But we were there when they found the 4 year old girl who they think was sexually assaulted. All I can say is love and protect your kids. I hope I am not sounding too judgmental, but it's hard not to when you have a kid of your own...but take the time to know where they are and who they are with. Unfortunately we live in a pretty horrible world, as was illustrated by this incident and also 9-11. That's all I can say though is to love and protect your kids. It's the most important job you will ever have!!!

Labor Day Fun

I was an avid journaler before Katy came along...not to blame her. Can you really, because she is so stinkin' cute and I get distracted by her? Any who I think my blog has become my journal outlet since I had her. And although I am not as good as I was before, it's at least a good way to put something down on paper.

My friend Nicole is such a great organizer when it comes to my friends. In fact they all are good at coming up with fun activities so we have an excuse to get together. Well Nicole decided that it would be fun for us to go up to Swiss Days this year, and let me tell you it was an adventure! We started the day out by meeting at Ashley's. Ashley was not sick but she had lost her voice and had decided not to go. Sheena and I carpooled and we met Nicole there. If you can picture this we all piled in Nicole's Pathfinder and headed up. Kidos and all!
Well we ended up having a blast, despite having to maneuver on a shuttle to get there, and the crouds! We had a good system down because after every isle we would meet at the end, then decide who wanted to see what. And while we got to see what we wanted  someone stayed with the kids.
I'm laughing now that Sheena and I got the HUGGEST scones and decided that we could each eat one on our own, because when we were both half way through there was plenty left to go around. And I forgot to take a picture on top of that.
I had so much fun, I think we should plan on it again next year girls!

On Labor Day we decided that it would be a good time for a hike, so we headed up to Dog Lake in Milcreek Canyon. Roger and Joanne came and I even talked RaNae and Ken into coming. And despite the crowdedness we found a parking spot and headed up. Chuck and Gus even got to come...his favorite! There are two ways to go: short and steep or long and winding. We went with the long and winding. When we finally got up there for lunch, we decided to take the short and steep way down...which was much faster. And although RaNae recalls me saying that it was a "short easy hike" which it was not, we had a good time. I am going to note that I remember saying that it's "not that bad", okay RaNae!!!

Katy decided that she was having way too much fun up there for her own good!

Later that night my mom was gracious enough to have us  all over for the BEST dinner ever! We even got homemade ice-cream too! Of course I didn't get any pictures...I guess I was having too much fun. But I did want to say thanks Mom for a great time! You really know how to throw a party!
