Lookin' Back...

***Warning***

This post contains a lot of pictures, don't let yourself get overwhelmed!!!

It occurred to me that I am a horrible wife. I failed to post for our 5 year anniversary...kind of a big deal. It was a month ago too..... December 16th. It's fun to look back and think of the past, see where we are now, and wonder where will will be in the future.

The Past.  Well first thing is first...we got hitched! What I love most about looking back was all the things people said about marriage to use before it happened. "Just wait until you have been married a few years!..." "The first year is the hardest..." And my personal favorite, "Just wait until the honey moon is over and you are no longer newly weds. That is when life really hits you!" Looking back, it's been fun to prove people wrong. Life has only gotten better the longer we have been married! The first year was the funnest, oh and so was the second, third, fourth and fifth! Oh and what I love most is how people still think we are newlyweds! When I tell people that I have been married to Steve for 5 years, it really surprises people. Which is weird to think to me! Looking back, before Katy was here (which was just one month shy of 5 years for us), we were just discussing last night how it was a selfish life, in a way. We got to hang out and be spontaneous. We could go shopping and buy new clothes, go to the movies, leave at a moments notice. Go on infamous road trips where we didn't have anything planned at all. Not much to have to worry about except ourselves.

The Present. Well breast-feeding, breast-feeding and more breast feeding. Don't forget the burping, oh and more breast-feeding! Ha! Going to the store to buy diapers, breast pads and milk storage baggies! Sorry Steve! Life defiantly changes! But at the end of the day, when you are completely sleep deprived, and Katy looks up at you and shoots you a smile....well, it melts your heart and makes it all worth it! And I wouldn't change a thing!

The Future? A question mark is a good way to sum that up. I can only imagine that life will get better and better, as it has in the past. Team Beardshall is defiantly going places. I cant imagine how much fun it will be to see Katy grow into her personality. Will she have OCD tendencies, like Steve...will she be a side seat driver like me? I think all in all she will be pretty laid back. Only time will tell. All I can say is that Steve and I defiantly don't have a conventional way of life. I think that is what I love about us most. Our "normal" is what others see as a crazy way to live. I love that money is not important to us at all, I love that Steve can still make me laugh so hard that milk comes out of my noes, I love that we have done things in our own time and way. I love that I have been married for 5 years.

So here is an ode to 5 years of marriage to the most wonderful guy a gal could ask for! I won the lottery when Steve asked me to marry him, and I can't imagine living my life with anyone else!!!
As I said before, there are so many pictures here (and these are only the pictures I had on the laptop, if I would have added the ones on the desktop we would all be in trouble!!!) Here they are...in no particular order......

Wow!! I loved this post! I read the WHOLE thing and loved it! You guys have a great life and I love that you waited to have Katy on your own time. We've been married just over 2 years and everyone asks us when we'll have kids....we have no idea, but I appreciate people who have fun being married and then take the next big step to have kids. You guys are so cute together.

That was a way fun trip through your life...Bryan hates the Beach too...but you look super skinny and cute so that is a plus! Life will start a whole new adventure now with kids and all that come with that, but you already are experiencing that! It is fun though and you will grow in ways you never thought you could or would!
